What I’m Reading 10/29/25

October 29, 2025 by booksyoushouldlove@gmail.com Leave a Comment

I’ve got a few things on my “Currently Reading” list. A few have been there a looooong time (oops), but here are the ones I am actively reading.

  • Physical Book: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (book 4) by JK Rowling. My 11yo son has been reading the books, so I am re-reading them alongside. As we finish a book, we watch the movie. He’s already halfway through book 5, so I’d better get a move on! I have goals to finish it this week.
  • Audio Book: Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow (book 3) by Jessica Townsend. I’ve listened to the first two books already this month and they were fantastic. This one is a little slower, less action, less world-building…I’ll finish it, but I’m starting to feel bored with the series. I will finish this book this week, as well.
  • Long-Read: Humble Moms by Kristen Wetherell. I’m reading this with a book club of moms over the course of several weeks. We discuss 1 chapter a week. The book takes a look at Jesus through the book of John, and it has had some really insightful moments. I am really good with knowing WHAT the Bible says, but I am pretty terrible at drawing lessons and actually APPLYING what it says. This book helps me make those connections. We should be done with this mid-November or so.
  • Bible Study: God Of Deliverance by Jen Wilkin. This is a 10-week study on the first 18 chapters of Exodus. Our Friday morning study group is over halfway through and I am loving it! Jen does a great job teaching through the Scripture each week, and I have learned so much more than I ever would have studying it on my own. Our church is also going through the book of Exodus on Sunday mornings and the sermons have been perfectly lined up to our study…it has been so great to get extra insight into something I’ve literally *just* studied in my own time. We’ll finish the study before Thanksgiving and start God of Freedom, which finishes the book of Exodus, in the new year.
