Can I Play Too? by Mo Willems

July 6, 2016 by booksyoushouldlove@gmail.com Leave a Comment

You Should Love It Because…
This book is a celebration of differences. As the delightful duo begin playing a game of catch, a snake asks to play along. After a few hilarious trial-and-error efforts, the friends hit upon the perfect way to play together. Anticipate lots of giggles, especially once the game gets rolling. This book is perfect for helping children learn empathy and to appreciate differences in people.

Classroom Connections
The *free* lesson plan I’ve created for this book includes over a dozen questions to lead discussion and further learning. It also features a game-centered extension activity which will require some teamwork and problem-solving. The 3-page lesson plan can be found at my store.

Read, Love, Teach.
